My family and I have been here a handful of times since we moved here in June. The food is consistently good (I just finished eating a Brisket and Blues Salad and my wife had a Taco Salad) and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. Service can be a little slow (even when there are very few patrons), but it's not unreasonable. And the wait staff have always been very cordial and helpful. Especially for this area (Junction City), this is a very good option.

First time here. No expectations, really which is a good thing. I had two meet plate with Brisket and Chicken. Wife had pulled chicken sandwich, kids had PB&J and Corndog. We really wanted pulled pork, however a large order this AM apparently wiped them out. In short, I was excited for dessert,...at Dairy Queen. The "smoked chicken" had no flavor and was dry. The Brisket was fatty with no flavor. Usually I sparingly use BBQ sauce to enjoy the flavor of the meat. This time it was used to give the meat some flavor and enjoyability. I wish had I had better to say. The sides were good and my daughter said the Mac & cheese was "amazing." I'll take her word for it. Server was nice though.

Very slow service. May have been the waitresses first day... Dry burgers, very little chili on the chili burger and the coleslaw never came. After delivering our food, we were not checked on again. Will go to DQ or ARBY'S next time.

Service wasn't great.. it matched the burgers.. ketchup bottles were down to the last little bit and not clean. We were never asked if we needed anything and we didn't get an offer of refilling drinks.

Oh, how I wanted to LOVE this place! It was a hot day, so instead of making dinner, we decided to try Hawgz and get some greasy, saucy, tasty BBQ. Alas, it was not to be. Both of us tried a variation of the BBQ brisket, and it was dry. No sauce. Server asked us what kind of sauce we wanted as she brought the plates to the table. We told her our choices and she brought back little portion cups (one for each of us) of sauce to put on our food. So disappointing. I was hoping for saucy, messy BBQ brisket, not dry meat we had to sauce ourselves! Between us we had three sides: house cut fries, baked beans, and cole slaw. I will give them credit for making their own fries and not dumping them out of a bag into a fryer. However, the baked beans were not house made and were just warm, and the cole slaw was disgusting (watery, no flavor whatsoever). Price was fine, service was friendly but not speedy, decor and ambiance were just fine. But the food was disappointing. I recognize that Junction City is not the epicenter of fine cuisine, but I figured that they could at least get BBQ right. Oh well.

My wife and I stopped in while driving through town (we're from WAY out of town - as in 3000 miles East) in early January and after our meal I offered to leave a review but didn't remember to do so until now. I had a meat plate with pulled pork and sides of potato salad and slaw and my wife had the salad with meat on it. One thing we both remember is that we enjoyed it greatly and wouldn't hesitate to eat there again.

Loved the food when the previous owners ran this place as Boss Hawgs. Service has always been slow, but the food was worth the wait. Though the menu looks similar the quality has went down significantly. The service is still slow, the prices stayed about the same. Portions are reasonable, but the mac & cheese, the good quality burger that was smoked and delicious, the fried pickles, the chicken, everything that we used to order and enjoy, now has less flavor. Patties seem to be made from processed preformed meat, the chicken must have been a game fowl the pieces were so small and the batter was flavorless, no seasoning. Breading was falling off the pickles, the cornbread was a boxed mix without the kernels...All in all the 8 of us were all disappointed to have lost one of our favorite local eateries. I hope the new management and owners realize this and make some changes.

I get the impression that Hawgz has been a restaurant for a long time -- but the current owners are a new feature. I tried to order a couple of things that turned out to no longer be offered -- but the new menus are still on the to-do list. (as is the outdoor signage.) First, let me say, the place smells great. We were there hungry and after a tiring day of errands and shopping -- and really wanted to like this place. They were trying very hard to have their act together. After we ordered, they brought us some complementary cornbread muffins -- with real butter (which is always a point in a cafe's favor.) Husband ate 4 or 5 in all. They were a hit! Husband ordered his usual plain and dry burger. And it was. I ordered a chili-cheese burger with sweet potato fries. Both burgers appeared to be cookie-cutter patties. But "chili" turns out to be a very optimistic name for the sauce on mine. If there was chili powder, cumin, peppers, heat, or any of the other familiar flavors of chili there, they were drowned out by the sugary sweet tomato-based BBQ sauce that was most of the red on the plate. The chili-BBQ-sauce had some diced briskit, and some beans -- and an occasional bit of other BBQ meats/sausages. I've been to BBQ joints that kept a "scrap pot" for the shards of their yummy meats, that either became a soup or get sold as a filling for sloppy-joe-ish BBQ sandwiches. But I've never been served up the smokey sweet meats and sauce on something advertised as a chili-cheeseburger. There wasn't enough cheese to taste -- and who eats cheese on BBQ sauce anyway? Both the sweet potato fries and husband's french fries looked pre-packaged. Anyway -- the chili was such a big fail that not much else mattered to me. Husband ate his happily, but it's hard to screw up plain-and-dry meat on bread. 3-stars is a little generous, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for future improvement based on the yummy smells coming from the kitchen.

I had honey burbon boneless chicken (tasty) with crinkle cut fries (pretty average). I also had the blue burger (very huge, delicious) with macaroni salad (made with mustard). Overall, I enjoyed the food, but ordered waaaaay to much. Service was very friendly.

Love the mac n' cheese! I also love that it is kid friendly! My children had a great time coloring and playing with the toys they have on hand (we did wash our hands before eating...). The staff smiled when we entered, we were greeted promptly by our waitress and our food was steaming hot! I ready some reviews and see a lot of thoughtful feedback, with serious consideration from the owners and implementation of changes - I hope others give it another try. We have had wonderful experiences and we are by no means town regulars, so I feel it's genuine!

Oh my goodness, the ribs, brisket and pulled pork are so good! Juicy and falling off the bone. The drinks were tasty as well! Will totally go here again!

HAWGZ is the absolute BEST place to eat!! The most recent owners are AWESOME! The food and service are great! Can't get any better than this. These people seriously have their act together and none of the food taste "pre packaged" to me at all! (Referring to an older post). Keep up the fantastic work. I'll definitely be back.,
